Was your car repossessed by First Harvest Credit Union within the past six years? Your legal rights may have been violated.
First Harvest Credit Union, located in New Jersey, is a federal credit union based in Deptford, NJ, with members across Southern New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania. First Harvest Credit Union has faced criticism for its aggressive vehicle repossession practices. Borrowers have reported limited communication before repossession and difficulty negotiating payment arrangements once accounts fall behind. These practices have raised concerns about fairness and transparency, particularly for members in financial distress.
Whether you missed payments or not, the credit union must follow the law. Flitter Milz is a consumer protection law firm that represents borrowers against credit unions for improper tactics used in the repossession of personal vehicles -- new or used cars, trucks, motorcycles, powersports & ATVs.
There will be no cost to you, the borrower, for a legal review.

What to look for:
- Loan Agreement
- Repossession Notice or Notice of Disposition of Collateral
sent to you AFTER the repossession
Proper Repossession Notices
After a vehicle repossession, the lender must provide a Repossession Notice to the borrower confirming the vehicle was repossessed. The notice will explain terms to retrieve the vehicle, state any money owed, detail a deadline to act, and the date of an auction or sale.
Once the vehicle is sold, a lender, like First Harvest Credit Union, will send a Deficiency Notice which confirms the selling price of the vehicle, and shows the calculation of any balance owed to satisfy the loan, or refund you are entitled to.
Wrongful Repossession
Repossession agents are not allowed to "breach the peace" in taking a vehicle. This means that they can not use physical force, threaten arrest, or damage personal property. Like all lenders, First Harvest Credit Union is responsible for the actions of their repo agent.
